Aeronomics is a small business providing advanced solutions to system engineering design problems. Founded in Huntsville, AL in February 2017, Aeronomics provides customers with accurate, timely, and cost-effective solutions. With a team of industry recognized experts in missile and space systems, Aeronomics provides engineering solutions for weapon modeling and simulation and thermal protection systems to U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) organizations and industry leading cleared defense contractors.
Prior to founding Aeronomics, John served in senior level positions and was responsible for the procurement and implementation of technical systems for leading companies in Washington, DC and Houston, TX Metro areas. John worked closely with a variety of Fortune 100 companies and U.S. Government agencies to manage distribution, marketing and implementation of cost effective IT strategies. John’s leadership has allowed his company and clients alike to achieve significant growth and reach corporate goals. As Director of Business Development, John was responsible for the company's increase in domestic and international partnerships and sales.
His professional career has been in the technical services industry where he has held positions from Systems Analyst to Corporate Officer providing a broad spectrum of engineering and management experience supporting DoD organizations including the Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC), Army Forces Strategic Command (ARSTRAT), Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS), Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center (AMRDEC), and large aerospace prime contractors on concept developments, advanced technologies, and major system developments. He has over 30 years of experience in missile and space-based systems engineering and design synthesis, agile methods, end-to-end concept development, mentoring, software independent verification and validation, business development, battle management, command and control, simulation and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) development, and weapon systems analysis. He developed Simulation Support Plans (SSP) for various Project Offices. He served as a principal investigator responsible for conducting weapon system trade studies and systems performance analysis, developing concepts for technology exploitation, performing risk assessments, supporting ground testing and flight test events, and conducting technology readiness assessments.
Bob serves as the company's chief scientist. His experience includes more than 20 years of Scientific Computing and Integrated Test and Evaluation for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Army, Air Force, Navy, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and MDA. His experience encompasses using and developing computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools for hypersonic applications and has applied these codes in a wide variety of areas from ground test support and facility development to a full vehicle analysis.
